MT Logan Capital Management Welcomes Sun Siang Liew as Chief Analytics Officer

MT Logan Capital Management appoints Sun Siang Liew as their chief analytics officer.

MT Logan Capital Management has announced the appointment of Sun Siang Liew as their new Chief Analytics Officer. With its assets under management (AUM) now at $1.8 billion, this action marks a major milestone in the company’s efforts to improve its analytical capabilities. It is anticipated that Liew’s arrival will enhance the company’s risk management and investment procedures while fortifying its data-driven strategies.

Liew brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His professional journey is marked by a strong background in analytics, particularly within the insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance sectors. Before joining MT Logan, he held key positions that allowed him to develop expertise in quantitative analysis and modeling. Most recently, he served as SVP of Portfolio Analytics at RenaissanceRe, where he focused on enhancing portfolio performance through advanced analytical techniques. Before that, Liew spent over a decade at AlphaCat Managers, where he held positions such as Head of Portfolio Analytics, leading the development of analytical frameworks for risk assessment and investment strategy, and VP, Research Analyst, conducting in-depth market analysis to inform investment decisions. Earlier in his career, he was VP and senior Risk Analyst at Validus Research Inc., where he specialized in quantitative risk modeling and analysis.

These experiences have equipped him with the skills necessary to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets, which is crucial in the financial and investment industry. Liew’s ability to translate data into actionable strategies is a key asset that MT Logan aims to leverage.

In his new role as Chief Analytics Officer, Liew will be responsible for leading the firm’s analytical initiatives. This includes developing and implementing advanced analytical models to support investment decisions, risk assessments, and portfolio management. His responsibilities will also involve enhancing the firm’s data infrastructure and ensuring that analytical tools are effectively integrated into the company’s operations.

“Sun Siang’s expertise in analytics is a valuable addition to our team,” stated John Modin, Chief Executive Officer of Mt. Logan Capital Management, Ltd. “His background in quantitative analysis and modeling aligns perfectly with our focus on data-driven investment strategies.”

Liew’s experience in the ILS and reinsurance markets is particularly relevant to MT Logan’s business model. These markets are characterized by complex risk assessments and require a deep understanding of statistical modeling and data analysis. His familiarity with these areas will allow him to quickly contribute to the firm’s analytical framework.

His proficiency in developing and applying quantitative models is expected to improve the accuracy and efficiency of MT Logan’s investment strategies. By leveraging his analytical skills, the firm aims to enhance its ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities while effectively managing risks.

Looking ahead, Liew’s role will be pivotal in driving the firm’s analytical evolution. His expertise will support MT Logan’s goal of strengthening its position in the market. The expectation is that he will create and implement advanced systems that enhance the firm’s overall performance.

“We are confident that Sun Siang’s contributions will significantly enhance our analytical capabilities and support our continued growth,” said John.

Sun Siang Liew’s appointment is indicative of MT Logan Capital Management’s commitment to incorporating cutting-edge analytics into its main business processes. This move is anticipated to drive the firm’s future success in the competitive investment landscape.
