The company has appointed Dr. Curren Katz as Senior Vice President and Chief Data Science Officer and promoted Tara O’Neil and Scott Mays to key positions within its legal department.
Appointment of Dr. Curren Katz as Chief Data Science Officer
Dr. Curren Katz, PhD, joins MultiPlan in a newly created role where she will lead and unify the company’s efforts in data science and artificial intelligence (AI). With a strong background in healthcare and technology, Dr. Katz brings extensive experience from her previous position at Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceuticals division. There, she served as Global Head of Strategic Business Transformation after leading Data Science and Digital Health initiatives.
Prior to her tenure at Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Katz spent five years at Highmark Health. She founded and led the enterprise Data Science department, covering payer and provider markets with responsibilities that included strategic partnerships, AI governance, and driving key growth initiatives. Her leadership experience in U.S. healthcare also includes three years at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center.

Promotions Within the Legal Team
MultiPlan also announced the promotion of two seasoned professionals within its legal department:
- Tara O’Neil has been promoted to General Counsel from her former role as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. With over 30 years at MultiPlan, O’Neil has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and the development of its legal department. In her new role, she will serve as a key member of the executive team, overseeing MultiPlan’s multi-disciplinary legal organization, including legal affairs, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, client and provider contracting, and supporting the company’s talent acquisition and management needs.
- Scott Mays has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Legal and Deputy General Counsel from his previous position as Vice President, Legal and Associate General Counsel. Since joining MultiPlan in 2017, Mays has been instrumental in developing the client contracting group and supporting corporate transactions. Before joining MultiPlan, he served as Associate General Counsel at Tufts Health Plan.
